About me
My career started as a software developer during my Bachelor studies using C++ in a VR environment. I changed to a startup as a PHP Developer once I started my Master's studies in computer science. After my studies, I worked briefly as a project manager and eventually relocated to Vilnius as a Senior Developer. I mentored 10+ junior/mid-colleagues and built the team from the ground up. I transitioned into the Development Manager role before I joined the NordPass team as Engineering Manager.
As an engineering manager, I lead the security tools squad in NordPass with 10+ engineers. I also contributed to several projects and initiatives across the product, striving to create the best product for our customers. This allowed me to dive into a variety of topics and work with a multitude of different people, which requires quick adoption of different processes and contributors. Key projects like the TOTP initiative required collaboration between multiple teams and guiding a new team through the difficult process and code. We learned a lot during the project on cross-team collaboration, and I can share this experience as a mentor.
In my current role as senior engineering manager, my areas of responsibility have expanded to include overseeing not only individual contributors but also managers. This shifts my attention from day-to-day operational business to a more strategic level.
With a developer background, I can relate to the team's day-to-day issues. Facilitating the communication skills I gained as a manager allows me to understand and connect both sides.
